Earlier this month I given the opportunity to try out The Bouqs flower service. I knew the name sounded familiar as I am an avid watcher of Shark Tank and The Bouqs had been on Shark Tank trying to get a deal. Unfortunately they did not get a deal, but since then were able to get private investor funding to grow the company! I will be the first to say I'm so glad my path crossed with The Bouqs! I've ordered flowers online and bought flowers from a florist and no flowers I have ever had can compete with the flowers I received from The Bouqs.

First and foremost, these flowers come all the way from South America! The Bouqs also offers a California Collection that are only $10.00 more, at $50.00 per bouquet. The California collection offers next day delivery if you are in a hurry, as the flowers that come from South America take seven to ten days to arrive, hence the shipping distance. The bouquets from South America are $40.00 flat rate which is absolutely a steal!

The Bouqs : Flowers right out of the box

I didn't know what to expect as for $90.00 at other online flower retailers the flowers are decent but nothing to write home about, so for $40.00 I didn't think they could be that amazing! Boy, oh boy, was I wrong!! I ordered the "Desperado" bouquet which contains two dozen pink roses. It ended up coming with a total of twenty eight blooms. I received the FedEx shipping notice on Tuesday, October 7th and the bouquet was scheduled to be delivered on Friday, October 10th. On October 9th, I received a notice from FedEx that the shipment had been delayed until Saturday, October 11th. My first thought was that being in a box for 5 days couldn't be good for them and that most likely they would be wilted. Again, I was wrong! The Bouqs had packaged these babies with lots of tender, loving care and they were absolutely perfect, even a day late. I also received a $15.00 voucher from The Bouqs because of the FedEx delay, that I wasn't expecting.

The flower stem bottoms had a clear goo around the ends, something like a gel coolant to help keep the flowers moisturized and I imagine also to help keep the temperate of the roses regulated. Right after I had ordered my roses, The Bouqs sent me a link to help me give my flowers an "Instant Facelift" upon arrival. In this article, I learned some new facts about roses, like the purpose of the guard petals! After unpacking my roses, I removed the guard petals, cut the stems at an angle and trimmed the extra foliage at the bottoms. There were so many blooms that I started my bouquet off in two separate vases. In one vase I put some of the supplied rose food and left it out in the other vase, just to see if it really made any difference. My conclusion, the rose food definitely helped keep the roses alive longer as after week one, the vase without the rose food were wilted a little bit more than the other vase, but still gorgeous.

As mentioned in the video, not only were these flowers gorgeous but the aroma they put off was absolutely divine. Usually you have to stick your nose right up to the flower and breathe deeply in to enjoy the scent. These roses were so fresh that their scent would fill the whole room, which I have never experienced with roses.

After about a week and half the flowers in the vase without the rose food were done, but the others were just then starting to wilt. Two weeks later they were still alive, not looking as vibrant, but hell I've never had flowers last more than a couple of days, so the fact that they lasted for two weeks is absolutely astounding. I took pictures every couple of days and decided to do a video along with an updated video a few days after the original video.

I honestly can't say enough good things about The Bouqs. My flowers were absolutely stunning and exceeded my expectations beyond belief. Next I'm going to order a bouquet from the California collection and do a post on it, so definitely be on the look out for it. Below are a photo timeline of my flowers. I'd have to say their peak was one week after I received them but where still gorgeous following the next seven days. Lola also couldn't keep her eyes off the flowers and I'd have to hide them every night otherwise I'm pretty sure miss kitty cat would have tried to eat them.
