I absolutely love blonde jokes, as my response is always, "Well I'm not a natural blonde!" Not once has the jokester had a witty comeback to that. But unfortunately not being a natural blonde the upkeep is expensive and can be a hassle having to go to the salon every 4 - 6 weeks. When I was introduced to Rootflage I immediately jumped at the chance of doing a review. I expected it to be similar to a hair fiber but much to my surprise it's a loose, colored mineral powder. Rootflage comes in three different shades of blonde, light, cool & warm.

Each application container of Rootflage contains 10 grams of powder which equivalates to about 20 applications. The product is all natural and includes other ingredients such as cornstarch, rice powder, and kaolin clay. It can also double as a dry shampoo, but since I have absolutely zero experience with dry shampoo, I don't have any comparison to relate it to. I didn't think it would look that natural but I was mistaken as it absolutely lightened up my roots within seconds to give a less drastic contrast with the regrowth. The only thing I suggest is not to get it directly on the split hair line to keep the part complete natural looking.

The container is designed with convenience in mind as it's a small enough size to throw in your purse along with an inner brush sleeve that slides up to help protect brush bristles and quick to close. The lid also locks so it won't fall off and waste the product in the bottom of your purse! The brush has a hole in the middle that allows the powder to be distributed to the brush. I found it was easiest to tap the brush on my scalp, brush with the bristles and fade with fingers. The whole process from start to finish takes about a minute, two at the very most.

Overall, I am more than impressed with Rootflage. The product washes out easily with shampoo and can be re-applied every day until you are able to get to the salon to get those highlights. The warm and cool blondes are the best at covering up dark brown and grey hair as the light blonde shade is more of a lifter than a concealer. Each shade is $24.95 and a sample pack of all three colors is available for $15.00.
