On December 6th, I was invited to the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Event at Nordstrom which I gladly accepted and couldn't wait to attend, since my prior introduction to the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare line was so splendid! You can read about it on this previous post. At my prior introduction, I was offered a facial peel but I'm terrified of peels so I observed as a lady next to me received an Alpha Beta Peel while I received a Steamer Facial. After watching the lady next to me that day, I decided for this event I would take the plunge and go for the peel.

For my first official peel ever, it was fabulous and the Dr. Dennis Gross consultant, Jera was so sweet, helpful and thorough. She let me ask a ton of questions and walked me through each step along with letting me interrupt each time to take a picture of all the products. To familiarize you, Dr. Dennis Gross is a NYC dermatologist and board certified dermatological surgeon that offers professional skincare treatments and has created his own line of professional skincare products and take-home products that are at a lower concentration strength so you can maintain the same skin regime between professional treatments. The line is cruelty-free, vegan, paraben free and has many benefits including increasing the production of collagen, which in turn reduces fine lines and wrinkles. The line is safe for all skin types, even sensitive and acne prone skin.

As I sat down, I always look and inspect to see if the application area is clean and sanitary. If it's questionable, I will instantly knock off a point from the very beginning, but the Dr. Dennis Gross area was as clean as a whistle with multiple, individual applicators along with all the bottles and jars set up nicely and all labels facing forward. While using the All-in-One Toner and Cleanser, Jera initially asked me several questions to assess my needs for the Alpha Beta Peel. This included what my concerns were, for instance, skin tone, radiancy, fine lines, texture and pore size.

My main skin concerns are uneven skin tone and especially fine lines, the older I get. Since I was concerned about the sensitivity of my skin, Jera decided to use the original formula opposed to the Extra Strength Formula which has an increased concentration of all the alpha and beta hydroxy acids, as well as Mandelic Acid and Willowbark Extract. In hindsight, I think I would opt for the Extra Strength Formula next time, as my face took amazingly well to the Original Formula, so I can only imagine the Extra Strength would give even better results. The Alpha Beta Peel is a micro-exfoliation and best of all has no down time, redness or flaking, can be used to treat your face, neck, chest, back or legs, and has no sun sensitivity with sunscreen use.

The Professional Alpha Beta Peel is a three step process, including the first step which distributes the acids on the skin and exfoliates. Jera said I might feel a slight tingle at this step but I think I had prepared myself for a burning sensation which it was not at all. I think I felt a slight tingle but nothing to make a side note about. Step Two is the Enriched Neutralizer which will immediately terminate any tingling action that you might have been feeling and contains moisturizers and antioxidants. The Third Step is a Targeted Refiner which I think is similar to a skin conditioner. I loved the non-harness and results so much that I ended up purchasing the 14 Day Challenge With Ferulic Acid + Retinol Brightening Solution. Unfortunately I have been so busy this month and last, I have not been able to adhere to my regular blogging schedule. But finally everything is now settled and back to normal so February will be full of new reviews and blog posts, including my results for the 14 Day Challenge With Ferulic Acid + Retinol Brightening Solution.

Following the peel, Jera used the Ferulic + Retinol Fibroblast Anti-Aging Moisturizer, followed by the Ferulic + Retinol Triple Correction Eye Serum and the Hydra-Pure Firming Eye Cream. The Hydra-Pure Firming Eye Cream helps firm the eye area, reduce puffiness, and replenishes hydration while the Eye Serum is an anti-aging retinol serum that prevents and reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and skin laxity of the eyelid and around the eye while smoothing the texture and tone. I would have loved to purchased both of these products as in the last year I've noticed more smudged make-up in the lower, inner eye corners due to the fine lines that have started to slowly creep in and creep me out, so both of these products are now on my "Wednesday Wish List ". The serum also helps with wrinkles on the upper eyelid, which most eye creams don't target.

As you can see in the pictures below my skin was glowing with absolutely no make-up on at all. I can't wait to share with you my results for the 14 Day Challenge With Ferulic Acid + Retinol Brightening Solution, so make sure to keep your eye out for that!

Last thing I will mention for this post, I was surprised to learn that Dr. Dennis Gross also has haircare products. The Root Resilience Haircare Starter Collection is available for $48.00 for a shampoo and conditioner of 3 fluid ounces along with a 1.0 fluid ounce Anti-Aging Scalp Serum. I couldn't opt for that one yet as my hair is so long and thick a 3 fluid ounce bottle would last me a week at best.
