After my previous experience with the Super Sweetback Treatment I didn't know what to expect with this treatment. But my conclusion of this treatment is much better and my hair loved this treatment. First the treatment is the same consistency and texture as the Super Sweetback but is a creme color and doesn't have a super sweet scent. It still had a strong scent but it wasn't like a sweet candy factory. As stated in the previous review I wasn't too sure how these treatments are exactly supposed to be applied, so I tried to apply this one to my hair dry...that did not work so I ended up wetting it and applying the remaining portion of the treatment. I left it in my hair for about 20 minutes while I soaked in a steamy bath. Immediately when washing it out I noticed my hair was softer than it normally is.
Blowdrying my hair didn't take any longer but I immediately noticed a huge difference when using my straight iron. The iron smoothed over my hair so easily and my hair was much straighter with just one strand stroke than my normal three or four strokes. Not only was it super straight that day but even the next day it was even slicker...in the rain!! Usually my hair will get super fuzzy in the rain but by using the treatment it seriously relaxed my hair and the rain didn't even phase it. (*still shocked!) That is only one of a handful of times that my hair has remained straight in the rain. Even one of my friends made a comment about it looking flat that evening. For most people that would be a negative but for me my hair is so thick and full of volume it is almost never flat, so to find a product that completely relaxed it is a plus for me!
This treatment is the same price as the Super Sweetback, $26.00 for 8 ounces. There's 0.46 ounces in the sample packs, which was a one time use for me. So roughly that's 17 uses which is about $1.50 per treatment. When broken down I believe this treatment is well worth the money for me. They also have 2 ounces and 16 ounces available for purchase too. Another thing to mention is they offer a variety of samples to choose from for free. Pick two and pay $1.00 for shipping.
