Recently I had the opportunity to try out the Halr Triple Barrel Jumbo Waver. My initial impression of the curler, was it is huge! It's not as heavy as I would have thought, but after doing multiple strands it can be tiring on your wrists. I was also very nervous about burning my ear, but luckily I didn't and of course I wore my heat glove, so there was no chance of toasting my fingers. As you can see from the YouTube demonstration video the curler creates a S wave in my hair. This curler heats up to 220 F°, which is -190° than the heat of my everyday curling iron, so it does take longer to set. The waves seem to set better with the use of hairspray too. The electrical plug is a "Type G BS 1363" which is not standard in the United States, but included in the box was a converter. Each curling barrel is 25mm which equals just under one inch each, with a total of three curlers.

As quoted above in the features and benefits, "reaching the maximum temperature in just 30 seconds". I did not find this to be true. I'm not sure if it was because it was plugged in through a converter, but at 2 minutes it was only at 64°; 3 minutes - 90°; 4 minutes - 123°; 5 minutes - 175°; 6 minutes - 208° and to maximum heat of 220° at 6 minutes and 49 seconds and that was with it clamped down/closed. The curler has a digital readout that counts up as it heats up. You can put it on lower heat settings, but since I have coarse hair I just instantly opted for the maximum degree.

I found I had better control of the curler when I held the solid piece facing up when curling my hair. I had a bit of a struggle at first with the back pieces as it was hard to clamp down in the exact position, but to fix that I just held the piece to the side verses straight out from the back and with practice it became easier. The curler has a nice rubber grip to help with the control as well. Also after some practice, you will learn how far down you go on each strand from the previous clamp because if you double clamp it will create a crinkle.

My favorite thing about the Halr Triple Barrel Jumbo Waver is the variety of styles you can create. Though I think it would be hard to create a bunch on myself, I have a good inkling that I could be some cool styles on someone else's hair. Without separating the waves, it gives a retro look that could be slicked down and worn. Or if you separate and loosen the waves it gives a windblown, natural, air-dried look...two completely different styles.
