Though I'm not much of a nail art beauty blogger, I opted to try for a "surprise" color from Alessandro International. ("Surprise" meaning I had no idea which color I would get.) Currently Alessandro International is considered one of the premier professional lacquer brands in Europe and recently decided to expand into the United States, partnering with Tweezerman. Alessandro International offers 99 shades to choose from, each at $12.00 for a .34 Fl. Oz bottle.
I received "Lucky Violet" which is a medium/deep purple. I waited till I went and got a manicure to take pictures for this post, as anytime I try and do my nails, it looks like a five year old painted them. But in my attempts of painting my nails, I noticed the formula is more on the thicker side which I absolutely love. When it's too thin, it tends to be streaky, which this polish wasn't, but it still obviously looked more vibrant with two coats. I also usually associate thick polishes with a longer dry time, but it dries fairly fast (several minutes), which is especially good for me, with my impatience demeanor.
I love the bottle design! The complete container is a rectangle with basically a square bottom (polish container) and square top (screw top & polish applicator/brush). This is helpful as the balance is great, when you are sticking the applicator in, to re-up on polish. It isn't top heavy or have the tendency to tip over, like some other brands. The top always has finger grooves to help hold and keep a sturdy grip while you paint. As you can see from the pictures, the color is deep and rich in color. It has a glossy finish and I didn't notice much chipping, but then again I only leave polish on my nails for several days before I remove it. For more information and to view all 99 colors, check out the Alessandro International website. Their polish is available for purchase through their website or Birchbox.
