Now that you have all of these fantastic hidden gems to run out and buy, let's talk about what comes after you try all of these lovely products. You take them off. You may think that it's simple to do such a thing, but if it isn't done right, you could leave traces behind. These traces could then add up to an acne overload on your face. I know you don't want that. It's really a matter of what order you do things in that makes all of the difference. So today we have for you a step by step guide to removing your make up and cleaning your face.
1. Using a wet wash cloth or makeup remover cloth, wipe your eyes. Be gentle, but make sure you get off all your eyeliner, mascara, and eyeshadow. It's okay if it smudges itself off onto the sides of your face or the bridge of the nose. Those areas are easier to clean with a good soap than your eyelids are.
2. Using a wet wash cloth, wipe off your lipstick and/or lip gloss.
3. Use your favorite soap and scrub your face. After rinsing, pat your face dry.
4. If there is any trace of makeup left on your face, use a makeup remover wipe and get it off. (Usually, all of the makeup will be off your face after the wash, but if you really caked it on, there might be a few traces of eyeliner or foundation left. Just wipe them off with the makeup remover.)
5. Next, you are going to wash your face again. Yes, I know, over-washing is bad, but it's okay in this particular case. You are now going to wash with an acne wash, in order to get rid of any oily residue that may still be left behind. Even if there is no oil, it is always a good idea to prevent acne rather than treat it.
6. Pat your face dry one more, and gently apply a moisturizer to your face that can be left on.
That's it! That is the true art of taking off your makeup, and in the end, you are left with fresh, clean skin. So now that we've shared with you the hidden gems of make up and the art of taking it off, what do you have to say about it? Do you have anything to add that we missed? Thanks!! I appreciate your support.
DeleteHonestly, the entire process of taking off the make up seems a bit too harsh for my skin. It is oily, but crazy sensitive. I use Bioderma Sensibio micellar solution as a make up remover. After that, I wash my face with Nivea foam for sensitive skin, pat dry, gently go over with a mild toner, apply anti age serum and moisturizer (either Vichy Idealia or La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo, depending on the state of my skin).
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your routine!! It's always fun to hear what works for different skin types!
