Anastasia Beverly Hills - Want You to Want Me - Fall 2012

"
A kit within a clutch. A nod to the glam and decadence of the 1970’s. Kit styled like a clutch and features a removable eye shadow palette for a takeaway touch-up wherever your night takes you. Nine long-wearing eye shadows create a range of looks from neutral to dramatic to smokey.

Introduction Video.
The newest palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills, "Want You To Want Me", is already one of my favorite palettes!! It truly has nine fabulous colors that range from matte to shimmery, from light to dark and even a perfect eyebrow shade for me! The kit also includes a black liquid liner, clear eyebrow gel and a dual ended brush.

The color that I use for my eyebrows is "Members Only". It's my favorite, as I find it is so versatile. My next favorite is hard to pick, as I love all of them. But if I had to choose it would be between "Front Row Center" and "Graphic T's". In my opinion, "Iron On" looks much more purple in the palette then when it's applied. I was scared it was going to be too purple for me, but it's actually a wonderful shadow color. All the shadows blend easily and are long lasting. Some of the shimmery ones do make more dust in the palette than others, but of course this is because of the individual formulas. I would consider all of them have a velvety texture rather than a creamy or chalky texture.  They can also be used as dry or wet shadows, depending on your preference.

I had never tried Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Liner and I can say after using it, it's a great liquid liner.  It's only available in this collection, at the present time (October 2012).  It is jet black and when applied, it goes on very dark and stays dark after it dries. The applicator can draw a super fine line and up to three times thicker depending on the pressure you apply. The only thing I wish, is that it would dry a bit quicker. I'm very impatient and I found myself smudging it several times before it had completely dried. It lasted all day and came off fairly easy with make-up remover.

The clear brow gel is wonderful.  It helps to keep brows in the perfect spot all day and all night.  After it dried, it wasn't too hard, but hard enough to keep pesky hairs in place.  The brush is a mini brush and is dual ended, one end for blending and the other for creases.  It is not the softest brush I've ever felt but it's far from the hardest. I especially like the crease end to apply shadow to my bottom lash line for a smokey, smudged out look.

This collection is only available for a limited time only, so make sure to get it before they run out. The value is great too, as it's only $34 for everything. Like the Kisses on My List collection, this would make a great gift or stocking stuffer.  Also make sure to check out the video from the advertising/promo photo shoot.  It looks like it was a lot of fun!

I'm pondering the idea of doing an Anastasia Beverly Hills monthly giveaway.  Would you be interested in winning this collection, the Kisses on My List Lip Gloss collection, The Lash Genius, The Brow Wiz or something else? Let me know in the comments below or tweet me ( @alElizabeth )anytime!

THE COLOR BREAK-DOWN:
• Platform Wedge:
This color on me almost completely blends with my skin. It is a light matte color that I use as a highlight or as a base from my lids to brow.
• Front Row Center:
I adore this color. It's a gold shimmer that I love to use in the corners of my eye as a highlighter.  It's also great to blend with other lights and darks.
• Ziggy:
This shadow is a light/medium purple with shimmer. This color I like to use as a medium shadow, either to highlight the darker colors or to use as the shading on light make-up days.
• Member Only:
As stated above, this is my favorite color because of it's versatility. It's a matte light brown that can be used as a brow filler or eyeshadow.
• Power Ballad:
This color is a mix between gold and brown with shimmer. It is another color that is great to be used on light make-up days as the dark or to highlight darker shades when doing evening looks.
• Jellies:
Jellies is the exact color of my pink Jelly shoes when I was a kid. When I read the name it definitely made me smile. It's a perfect shade of light pink with shimmer.
• Graphic T's:
I think I've used this color the most out of the palette when doing night looks or shadow on my bottom lash line. It a dark brown with light shimmer and looks fabulous when you blend it out for a smokey eye.
• Brass in My Pocket:
Like Jellies, this name is spot on, the color looks exactly like brass with lots of shimmer. I love to use this one on the ball of my eye and create highlights and shadows around it.
• Iron On:
I honestly thought this was going to be my least favorite color when I first glanced at the shadows, but much to my surprise, when it is applied it doesn't carry as much of a purple shade. It's darkness is close to the "Graphic T's" but is a tad darker with a purple undertone instead of brown and has a bit more shimmer.
