Influenster May 2012 - Part II

As mentioned in the intro video, this was my first Influenster Vox Box. I wasn't too sure what to expect, because honestly I didn't know much about the company, except that you had to sign up and get approved before you would receive your first box. I signed up on March 20th and was notified on April 18th that I should expect their spring box and will be updated in the beginning of May. On May 12th I got an email telling me to expect my box in the next week. I decided to do a few write ups and a few video reviews. Thank you to Influenster for giving me this opportunity. Hope you enjoy!

Aveeno Daily Moisture Body Wash

I always love how gentle Aveeno products are and this one was not a let down. I honestly didn't think it would bubble up and lather well, but much to my surprise it bubbled up very nicely and didn't leave a sticky ring around the tub. The bubbles felt soft and light. I didn't notice that my skin felt more moisturized than usual, but it definitely wasn't any dryer than when using my regular soap. The soap has a light smell that doesn't linger, which is good, even though I would still prefer if it was unscented.

Bath & Body Works Signature Collection- Fine Fragrance Mist - Moonlight Path

I'm not big into fragrance sprays especially on myself, but of course I tested it out for the blog. When I first sprayed it on, I couldn't smell a thing...I thought hmmm, very light smelling and I sprayed a few more times, thinking this is awesome. An hour later I went to the grocery store and about half way through the grocery store I started noticing the smell, which was stronger than before. I think this was because it was humid outside and toasty in the grocery store, so my body heat made the smell more predominant. The Moonlight Path scent reminds me a tad of baby powder, even though the top notes in the fragrance are bergamot, lavender, mandarin and coriander. Instead of using it as a body spray, I actually prefer to use it as a spray around the house, to make the house smell lovely.

Dr. Scholl's - Ball of Foot for Her

First and foremost, I absolutely hate high heels, so I love anything that helps make high heels less uncomfortable. These little gel pads are great! The pads stick well and will make loose shoes more snug, but vice versa, they do not work well in shoes that are already tight, as the thickness of the pads, will then make the shoes too tight. I have loved every product I have ever tried by Dr. Scholl's and this one is one of my new favorites. I actually went and bought another pair to stick in a pair of boots.

LUSH: Strawberry Feels Forever

I went to Lush Cosmetics again this week and purchased the Strawberry Feels Forever Massage Bar and decided to take a few photos of it and create an advertisement, before I used it all up.  I love doing product photography and combining it with illustrator elements...I'm just not that good at photography yet.

I decided to go with the Strawberry Feels Forever Bar over the Each Peach bar based on the smell, but the peach bar is the next one on the list to try.  After rubbing it all over my legs and arms I smelled like a strawberry field for the next couple of hours.  The smell does fade within a few hours, which is good because I don't think I'd be able to handle smelling like a tutti frutti all day and night.  It is a very sweet smell, so if you like sweet smells, I suggest this product for you.  The Lush strawberry scent definitely makes the Bath and Body Works Fresh Picked Strawberries Soap smell less yummy.

Even though the bar looks like a bar of soap, it actually slowly melts into a very nice oil upon getting warm and rubbed against your skin.  The oil does leave a semi-thick residue on your skin, but I was pleasantly surprised most all of it absorbed into my skin within fifteen to twenty minutes.  If you have to put clothes on shortly after application, I do suggest patting your skin down lightly with a towel, so excess oil won't get on your clothes.  I did not find that this product made my skin particularly over moisturized, nor did it dry my skin out.

All in all, I really liked the Strawberry Feels Forever massage bar and I can't wait to try the Each Peach bar, as I've heard it feels more like a lotion.  For the price (average $9.95/each), these massage bars are a great treat once in a while, but for daily application, I certainly can't afford it.
