Several months ago I was given the opportunity by Birchbox and their Birchblogger program to try out several products from Klorane. I had actually never heard of Klorane but I absolutely love trying new hair products especially those that are formulated for blonde hair. Not only does Klorane offer a variety of products for color treated hair but they also have an extensive line for other hair concerns like, dullness, oiliness, frizziness, thinning and many others. All of their products are plant based and depending on your specific concerns will determine which plant ingredient would be best for you. These ingredients include, oat milk, citrus, nettle, cornflower, mango butter, desert date, pomegranate, magnolia, quinine, papyrus, milk, chamomile, century, almond, milk, and peony.

I was lucky enough to get to try out Klorane's very first line which contains chamomile. Chamomile is great for blonde, color treated hair as it enhances blonde and leaves hair shinny. I've never had much of a problem of my highlights turning brassy but it's always tangly after I wash it. The conditioner made my hair easier to comb through and it didn't leave any residue on my hair to weigh it down. I found that if I used the conditioner along with the vinegar rinse it helped the conditioner mush into my thick hair easier. The vinegar rinse is thin like water and definitely has a vinegary scent upon application but after rinsing it out it leaves my hair with a soft chamomile scent. I noticed that when I used the Klorane line my hair has more of healthy shine opposed to the daily frizzes that stick out in every direction if I don't spray them down with hairspray.

The Klorane mousse was the last product I tried as I usually blow-dry my hair, then always straighten or curl it. The first time I used the mousse was on a day that I didn't blow-dry my hair only to discover that it is the lightest mousse I have ever used. It didn't make my hair crunchy or stiff but instead left it feeling soft. My hair never looks good with air drying but it gave it a little bit of definition but it was not as frizzy as it normally would be if I hadn't used any product. After discovering how light it was I started experimenting and I've found that I absolutely love using it on days that I straighten my hair. It's great for flyaways and calming the ends. The mousse is liquid but comes out foamy as it has a foaming pump which makes the product airy, easy to distribute and a little bit goes a long way. The mousse has a light scent but it smells nice, not too earthy but not too sweet. Usually the next day I can still smell the soft scent of the chamomile in my hair after using the Klorane products.

I didn't receive the shampoo so I can't elaborate on it, but all in all I enjoyed trying out the Klorane products. I didn't notice the blonde in my hair get dramatically lighter, but I could definitely tell a difference in the softness, shininess and ease of brushing through it wet after using the line. Maybe if I had been using it everyday instead of once a week I might have been able to see a bigger difference in the color. I just felt like I'd be out in a little over a week, which is my only thumbs down about the conditioner.

The conditioner comes in a 5.1 ounce tube for $14.00. My normal shampoo and conditioner comes in a liter that lasts me about a month and a half which is a total 33.8 ounces for $22.00. I personally couldn't afford to use the Klorane shampoo and conditioner everyday. Since the usage of the styling and rinse products are significantly less I feel like those are totally up my alley and price range. I suppose if I had short hair, the shampoo and conditioner combo wouldn't break my bank, since obviously I'd be using a lot less shampoo and conditioner. But currently that's not the case and I don't have any plans in the near future to chop it all off, so for now Klorane styling products are the direction I'll be heading.  Klorane also carries a line of eye and facial products that contain cornflower water, which is soothing for skin, especially the delicate skin around eyes.

For more information on Klorane check out their website and follow them on Facebook and Twitter. Drugstore.com is a Klorane distributor so you can order online as it is only available at fine retailers. There's only three places in Atlanta that carry the line but Klorane is widely available all over the world, especially in France and the United Kingdom. Which Klorane products have you tried? Which products should I try next?
