Purpose Skin Care : The Gentle Cleansing Bar

For the last few weeks my skin has been enjoying a few products that I used frequently when I was young. My Mother had a cabinet stocked full of Purpose soap growing up and the scent of the bar soap especially brings back old memories. Purpose products were developed with dermatologists and are trusted to be gentle for all skin types, even sensitive skin along with being hypo-allergenic and oil-free.
The Gentle Cleansing Bar is a rectangular bar with the word "PURPOSE" embossed in it. (Sorry you can't see it in my picture!) It has a mild scent that instantly reminds me of being young, but reminds me of a medicinal scent now since I'm older...which for face soap is perfect, as I prefer non-scented or clean scents over a fruity or sweet scents to breathe in all day or night. That's actually why I hate Vanilla scented lotions...I smeared a bunch on my face one night when I was younger and woke up the next morning grossed out by the smell. Since that morning twenty years ago, I have hated the smell of vanilla. I do love scented lotions and soaps on my body though.
The Gentle Cleansing Bar does contain glycerin but surprisingly doesn't get all gooey in the shower like typical glycerin soaps. When using the bar it doesn't foam or bubble up much but does create a light, white lather which rinses off skin very easily. It's great for removing dirt and oil without leaving my skin ultra dry, though I do always follow up cleanser with a moisturizer as I believe my face can't ever have enough moisture! The cleansing bar is available in two sizes a 6.0 oz. and 3.6 oz. bar which can be purchased at any of the following online retailers.

Along with the The Gentle Cleansing Bar I received the Gentle Cleansing Wash which is a liquid version. I do love the bar soap but I think the liquid wins out between the two as it foams up into a creamy lather and is easier for me to use at my bathroom sink. The scent is a bit sweeter than the bar though it isn't strong enough to linger around after being rinsed off. This liquid wash is 100% oil-free, soap-free and doesn't sting if you get it in your eyes. A little bit goes a long way, as I only use one pump to wash my entire face. The majority of the time I remove my eye makeup with makeup remover before washing my face as I found neither the bar or liquid totally cleared eye makeup off, especially eye lash glue and waterproof eye liner. The liquid wash has been clinically shown to be as gentle as water which is perfect for anyone concerned with skin allergies or irritations.
Both the liquid and bar are non-comedogenic, meaning it won't clog skin pores and are both great for sensitive skin and acne prone skin. The price points on both products are extremely reasonable. The Gentle Cleansing Wash was also awarded an "Editor's Choice Award" by Allure Magazine. If you haven't ever tried Purpose Skin Care I highly recommend testing it out.
