The video above introduces today's post products, CeraVe, along with yesterday's review of a few Purpose cleansers. Today's post features several moisturizers along with a sunscreen manufactured my CeraVe. CeraVe products are developed with dermatologists and are great for skin types that may require or desire non-irrating cleansing and hydration. Most of the CeraVe formulations were created utilizing patented Multivesicular Emulsion or MVE® technology. MVE® consists of a controlled and steady release of various ingredients over time allowing skin to be hydrated longer and more efficiently with one application.
CeraVe : Therapeutic Hand Cream

The first product from CeraVe that I tested was the Therapeutic Hand Cream, which contains one of my favorite ingredients in moisturizers, Hyaluronic Acid. This ingredient draws moisture from the air and binds it to the upper layers of the skin to keep moisture in. The cream also contains Dimethicone which is a common ingredient in primers. Dimethicone gives skin a silky feeling without being greasy and creates a thin protective barrier on your skin. CeraVe Therapeutic Hand Cream also contains ceramides which help replace lipid levels in damaged skin along with niacinamide which helps the skin produce more natural ceramides and fatty acids essential for repairing and restoring the skin barrier.
The cream itself is a light formula that is alcohol and fragrance free, though I stated in the video I thought it was scented which ended up being my Bath and Body Works soap. The first thing I notice when using the cream is the skin next to my finger nails is much softer and not as rough around the edges. My hands haven't been too dry yet this fall season but I can already tell that by using this cream on a daily basis my hands will probably look better this winter than they ever have! It absorbs quickly and it's a great size for carrying around in my purse. Not only is it a great size, but it's exactly 3 ounces, which we all know is the airline standard for carry-on items! The cream is water resistant but I usually reapply after I wash my hands, as there aren't many times my hands get wet without using soap. The cream is available for $10.99 and is available at many local retailers. You can find the one closest to you with the CeraVe retailer locator.

CeraVe : Renewing SA Cream

The next CeraVe product is absolutely one of my new favorite products. I'm obsessive about applying lotion to my body everyday but the only one I've found that I absolutely love is Clinique's Deep Comfort Body Butter, which comes in a 6.7 ounces tube for $25.00. The CeraVe Renewing SA Cream comes in a 12 ounce jar for $21.99, so not only is it double the amount but it is cheaper. I've been using this cream everyday since I started testing it out and I am absolutely in love with it.
The formula is very thick but smooths into skin easily with a short absorbing time. Not as quickly as the Therapeutic Hand Cream but shorter than I would have thought based on it's thickness. It does contain Salicylic Acid which sounds scary but actually helps smooth and exfoliate skin...wonderful for bumpy or rough skin patches. The cream does contain alcohol so do beware that upon application on chilly days it will make you a bit colder for a few minutes until it soaks in!

CeraVe : Suncare Sunscreen Body SPF50

The last product I'll be discussing in this post is the CeraVe Suncare Sunscreen Body SPF 50. I haven't opened this product yet as it has a little seal on it and I want to save it for a trip to the beach. I'm petrified of the sun the older I get and I'm ecstatic to have what I'm sure is a top notch sunscreen for my next trip. Not only is it 50 SPF but water-resistant for up to one hour and twenty minutes. The sunscreen also uses InvisibleZinc technology, which I had never heard of, but after doing some research found that it contains micro-fine Zinc Oxide as an active ingredient which is a mineral reflector that creates a reflective barrier on the skin's surface. The formula is oil-free and dries clear. A 2 ounce bottle is $16.99 and is available in a variety of formulas including a spray and stick along with a kid friendly formula.
For more information on CeraVe check out their website. My post only scratches the surface of their wide line of products. Make to also follow them on twitter and facebook. Last +1 about CeraVe...they do not test on animals! :)
