Ever since I saw the Illamasqua Body Electrics Make-up campaign I have been obsessed with Illamasqua. Their campaigns are always so full of color and creativity which always catches my eye. To start off my Illamasqua collection my first purchase was the powder blush, "Katie" which is a light, milky pink. I always gravitate towards pink blushes and the pinker the better.
When I received my package I was immediately impressed with the packaging, as the blush comes in a glossy, black box with a sturdy, peek-a-boo blush container that flips up to open. The powder is very fine milled and applies evenly with little effort. The powder is very soft almost creme like, so it easy to pick up a bit too much with your brush but after using the powder once or twice you will know exactly how much pressure to apply to your brush to achieve your desired shade without wasting it. This blush is also great for layering as I love using a deeper toned blush first followed by "Katie" as a highlighter, though it is most definitely pigmented enough to wear alone.
"Katie" applies matte and does not contain any shimmer or glitter. My absolute favorite thing about this blush is the fact that it doesn't wash out in photo flashes and lasts all day long. I was amazed the first time I ever took a picture while wearing "Katie" as my cheeks had a glowing highlight. Make sure to go on the Pretty in My Pocket (PRIMP) app and thumb up the looks I created that include "Katie" blush.
Besides powder blush, Illamasqua offers several other types of blushes, including a cream blush and a new velvet blush in a wide variety of colors. I'm definitely going to try a brown blush next and I'm now dying to try some of their other products. For more information on Illamasqua click here. Follow Illamasqua on Twitter and Facebook.
