September 26, 2013 was the official launch of Saks Fifth Avenue's Fall 2013 Beauty Week but our blogger group was invited to come preview the goodies the night before and sent home with a bag full of luxury cosmetics. I arrived around 6:30 PM and was greeted by Salome, the Cosmetics Manager along with three girls from the Atlanta blogger group, Pam, Brittney and Dionne. Salome took us around to various cosmetics counters, where each brand manager shared company information / facts along with samples. I love hearing the story behind the brand, especially beauty brands as each story is so unique. My two favorites stories were Clive Christian and Bond No. 9. I will do blog posts on both in the near future, as I have to stay focused on the point in this post.
Going on now until October 5th is Beauty Week at Saks Fifth Avenue. This means that if you spend $100 or more in the Beauty or Fragrance department you will receive a sample-filled tote in your choice of color (navy, congac or white) and if you spend $150 or more in the Beauty or Fragrance department you will receive an additional cosmetics case in the same color as your tote. (while supplies last) Not only is the tote filled with luxury beauty items but many of the brands are offering an additional free gift with a specific minimum purchase of their brand. I've noticed a lot of department stores you walk into the employees could careless about your shopping experience and definitely just know the basics of a brand. This is definitely not the case at Saks Fifth Avenue. I was more than impressed at how much knowledge each brand manager knew about their specific brand. They were so friendly and happy to answer any questions we had. The store is set up exquisitely. Many of the brands have their own set up and is set apart from their next door neighbor. It's very private and personalized compared to sitting in a chair out in the middle of the floor next to a counter.
