Nordstrom Spa : Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare
This past Saturday I was invited to the Nordstrom Beauty Trend Show at Perimeter Mall. Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend the morning festivities as I had to work but I immediately went after work around 4:00 PM. The launch of the event was a fashion show earlier that day at 7:30 AM along with an appointment to get your make-up applied by your preferred cosmetic counter and a lovely gift bag to take home. By the time I arrived I thought most of the party would be over but I was mistaken. The whole store was still buzzing with excitement and lots of ladies getting facials and their make-up done by professionals.
I immediately went up to the Nordstrom Spa area and met with Nori, the Spa Director. She took me over to the Spa party area where there was a variety of skincare treatments that I could choose to do along with some tasty snacks to munch on. As I sat down the Skin Therapist, Helen was conducting a Dr. Dennis Gross "Alpha Beta Skin Peel" on the girl next to me. I sat there and watched though I think the girl wanted to tell me to quit staring at her. It was a three step skin peel along with a moisturizer and topped with the Dr. Gross CC Cream. The skin peel Helen was using is only available to professionals though Dr. Dennis Gross offers a take home, 2-step version for anyone to purchase.
After watching and learning about the skin peel I opted for the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare "Age Erase Recovery Mask Steam Facial". I figured this way I could talk about both treatments and face peels intimate me a bit, as I'm scared I'll turn into a tomato face for several days. The mask was applied in two steps with a fan brush followed by sitting in front of the Dr. Gross Steam Machine specifically made for facials. The mask is self heating and it felt luxurious! It actually reminded me of the Biore Self-Heating Mask which I was a huge fan of before it was discontinued.
Both steps have a similar consistency to Elmer's glue and applies smoothly but quickly beads up to moisture when exposed to the steam. Helen used a warm washcloth to wipe off the mask after five minutes of exposure to the steam. The mask came off very easily without leaving any residue on my face. She then followed that up with the "Age Erase Moisturizer", an eye serum and the Dr. Gross CC Cream. The eye serum is the Dr. Gross "Ferulic + Retinol Triple Correction Eye Serum" which I must note helps eye lids as well as fine lines under and around the eyes. Most eye treatments only help around the eye not the actual eye lid which makes this serum very unique. The CC Cream was very light and provides minimal/light coverage. My skin felt amazing walking out of there and I got a sample along with many other samples (Part III) of the "Alpha Beta Skin Peel" which I tested out yesterday, meaning a blog review will be coming soon.
After I left the Spa area I was on my way out the door when one of the Dior artists offered to do my make-up. I was happy to plop down and let her do her magic, as I honestly haven't tried many Dior products. Check out Part II to see exactly which products she used and what the final look was. Below are several pictures I took at the Nordstrom event in the Spa party area. Make sure to check out your local Nordstrom as they have a Beauty Trend Show every Spring and Fall. I can't wait to attend future events as it was a great afternoon and I'm so thankful Nori thought of me and sent me an invite...thanks Nori! ❤
