Grand Central Beauty sent me a sample of their S.M.A.R.T. Skin Perfecting Mask to try out a while back. I actually did the demonstration video at the end of last year but just now put it together for the final video and post. I explained before I received the sample, that I probably wasn't the best candidate to try out a skin perfection mask, as I don't have many skin or breakout issues. Grand Central Beauty was kind enough to still send it to me, just so I could experience the mask for myself and give my impression of it. The mask is named after it's qualities with an acrostic.
Smoothes -
Nourishing seaweed extracts makes skin feel softer and visibly smoother
Moisturizes -
Vitamin infused, exclusive water-activated formula provide immediate skin hydration and up to 24-hour moisture retention
Anti-Aging -
Clinically tested natural marine algae proven to detoxify skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, making skin look 6 years younger
Redness-Reducing -
Soothing botanicals help to brighten skin and visibly reduce signs of skin redness
Tones -
Mineral-rich marine powders help to refine pores and draw out black heads while adding suppleness to skin, improving both tone and elasticity
On average, 95% of panelists showed all of these results in 15 minutes:
- Brighter skin
- More radiant skin
- More moisturized skin
- More toned skin
- Face lifted without dryness
- More rejuvenated and refreshed skin
- More energized skin
- Fine lines seem more plumped
- Pores less visible
- Oiliness on the face cleared
First and foremost, I love the packaging and I love how everything you need except water is included in the kit. Even the plastic container is used as the mixing cup, along with a plastic spatula to mix the ingredients. So what else is included? First one vial of Intensive Booster that is made with vitamins and minerals from fruits, botanicals, and marine seaweeds. The second item in the kit is a capsule of Active Mask Powder, which is a very fine powder that is a bit dusty when standing alone.
The directions are very simple, mix both the capsule of Active Mask Powder with the vial of Intensive Booster, along with one capsule (the empty Active Mask Powder container) of cool tap water. Using the plastic spatula mix the three ingredients, which I found mixed very easily, but definitely took a minute to get it all mixed in. The formula is very wet and is the color of silly putty. After completing this tutorial, my top suggestion would be to use half of everything and save the other half for another day, BEFORE you mix it. You can't save the mask after it's been activated with water and the booster. I found that I had a lot of excess mask, even after gooping it on heavily.
As soon as I put the mask on I could feel a coolness to my skin. I left the mask on for 15 minutes and as you can see in the video above, it starts out looking very shinny but as it sets it turn more into a matte finish. Peeling it off was fun but a bit messy, as my mask came off in little sections each time. I then took a wet wash cloth and wiped the excess off. The hardest part to get off was around my hairline, but that's expected. I immediately noticed my face had a glow, but not oily in the least bit. I also believe my color tone was a bit brighter and it had lifted a bit of the rosiness in my cheeks. I didn't notice any huge, dramatic change, but I loved the formula and feeling it gave my skin.
The mask is sold as a set of four on the Grand Central Beauty website for $75.00. The set includes:
4 x 8g Active Mask Powder Capsules
4 x 5mL Intensive Booster Vials
1 x Convertible Container [Mixing Tub + Travel Mixing Dish]
1 x Spatula
1 x Travel Band
This breaks down to $18.75/each mask or if you only use half of the ingredients each time it would be only $9.38/each mask. Compared to other masks out there for skin concerns I believe it's a very reasonable price. I don't use masks very often, but I like that this one isn't activated until the ingredients are combined, meaning it has a long shelf life and wouldn't go bad in a period of time between uses.
If you are interested in learning more about the mask, check out the Grand Central Beauty or follow them on Twitter or Facebook. And of course if you have tried the S.M.A.R.T. Skin Perfecting Mask I'd love to hear what you think about it, especially ladies with major skin concerns.

ReplyDeleteI think it's only available to purchase through their online store. I currently do not know of any retailers.
